Melanie Davis has been a North Yorkshire County Councillor since May 2022 and is a member of the Transport, Economy and Environment Board and Standards Board.  Formerly a District Councillor for 20+ years and still a Selby Town Councillor for 30+ years.  She is also Chair of the Selby & Ainsty CLP.  In her spare time, she is Chair of two local charities and a school Governor.  Her main interests politically are housing, education, ensuring people get their rights and bringing public services back under local authority control.

Steve Shaw-Wright is currently a member of Selby Town, District Council and North Yorkshire County Council. He is the leader of Selby Town Council, which since April is the only Labour controlled council in North Yorkshire. Steve is also the NYCC Labour Group leader. He has been a party member for 45 years, is a UNISON member, a former National Union of Mine Workers member and is a member of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority. Steve is fiercely loyal to the party, union and community. He is committed to local government especially Town and Parish councils.

Jack Proud was brought up in Selby and attended Selby High School. He has since worked locally in the hospitality and catering industry. Since 2019, Jack has been a Selby Town Councillor. He has been involved in helping provide local families with vouchers and children with laptops during the pandemic but also setting up warm spaces for people struggling with the cost of living crisis. In 2022, Jack became a North Yorkshire County Councillor and sits on the Care and Independence Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

Stephanie Duckett became a North Yorkshire County Councillor in May 2017. She sits on the Children’s & Young People’s and the Corporate Parenting Overview and Scrutiny Committees. One key project Stephanie has been working hard on is the continued effort to make sure the Department of Education deliver a new much needed school for Osgodby. She also sits on the Selby District Council, Chairs the Barlby & Osgodby Town Council and the local United Charites, which recently set up a hardship fund for struggling families.

Bob Packham has represented Sherburn-in-Elmet as a District and County Councillor since 2003. He has >35 years’ experience in town planning with a keen interest in environmental issues. Since retiring from Leeds City Council in 2014, he has been a member of the District Planning Committee, and is now a member of the County Planning Committee. Bob is also on the Transport, Economy and Environment Scrutiny Committee. It is up to the opposition parties to hold the Tories to account on important issues like the environment, protecting/enhancing social housing and development of deprived urban areas. At a local level, he continues to support strong growth of the Sherburn community spirit which has developed over the last 10 years.
